Finally got some time…

to update the blog a bit.  Been busy w/life and gearing up for Christmas as I’m sure everyone else is too.

I’ve finished the newest order for a custom bookmark and delivered it.  Sadly, I forgot to take a pic of it.  See, how busy its been?!?!  It was a 2x7in bookmark w/a blue fabric backing and I stitched “Mattie’s Mom” and 2 cowboy boots (red and pink – not exactly, but close enough).  She VERY much liked it.  😀

I’m trying to finish a baby bib for one of the students I worked with over the summer (she’s pregnant and due Jan’09).  Its turning out really cute and I’ll try harder to take a pic.

Otherwise, its been housework and doing the family thing.  The boys will break for the winter next Friday, so that’ll begin 2 weeks of them and the hubby home.  Pray for peace.

Well, I gotta get back to doing housework and starting dinner.  Write anytime.

December start

Well, I had my biz meeting last Monday and we discussed all my news.  Very excited about opening the biz acct!!  She totally agreed w/me about the party idea – good, but not in this market.  We did talk about the microloan and I’m not sure I’m ready for that step yet.  Don’t have a foreseeable way that I can prove that I could payback a $2000 loan right now.  No worries on this end.

I’m waiting for the last of my bank acct stuff to come in and then I’ll work on opening my etsy shop:  www.coatclosetdesigns.etsy.com.  I think I’ll start by putting some of my patterns up for sale and sending them via email after payment.  Easier than trying to worry about S&H.

Also, I’ve been looking at online art degrees.  Many are for computer/graphic design -SO NOT what I want to do.  I really want to do painting, then transfer that to cross stitch.  My dream come true!!  I contacted the Academy of Art University for more info and got a callback w/in 10min!!  WOW!!  I’ve got a scheduled call tomorrow night to get more detailed info ($$ and the 5 W’s).  I’m a bit scared to go back to school.  Its been 11 1/2 years since I graduated, I’ve got a family to take care of, so I don’t want to neglect anyone.  Andrew is being very supportive at this point, but its still something HUGE to decide.

I would welcome any suggestions/comments about this.  I still plan to work on the biz, but think having a degree might give me an edge.
