Saturday Morning Update

Guess what….I  got ACCEPTED into TEXAS TECH UNIVERSITY!!!  😀

 Got my acceptance letter Wednesday, so now I’m just waiting for my financial aid stuff to come through!!  WooHoo!!  Come on, God!!  Know you’ll provide what we need!!

On a more stitchy note, I’ve started working on some coasters that I designed for some friends to see how they’ll turn out.  Went to Hobby Lobby yesterday to pick up some plastic coaster sets(put the xstitch project inside) AND they don’t sell them anymore.  😦  Guess I’ll have to order some through Herrscherner’s soon.

I <3 free time…

Well, February has been an extremely month for us-Cub Scout activities, wedding, and school stuff!!  So, we’re ALL hoping that March will give us some well-deserved free time.  🙂

I finished my last bookmark order(for now), so don’t have that hanging over my head.  😀  I’ve finally purchased my new software, PCStitch, and I’ve been starting to play with it more as our schedules are getting less hectic.  It has some awesome features that make LOTS of things easier to do.  My new mouse-pen arrived yesterday and I’m SOO glad I got it!!  My hand isn’t hurting AND it works great w/PCStitch…{oh yeah!!}

I’m planning to concentrate on designing for a while and take a stitching break.  Would really like to start earning a bigger royalty from my charts via www.patternsonline.com.  Got some cool ideas I want to try out and waiting for God to inspire me some more.  I also think I’m going to work on making up some stuff and put it in my etsy store, www.coatclosetdesigns.etsy.com to see how it sells.

Done w/the minis!!

I’m FINALLY done w/the mini bookmark project!!

Finished stitching the last of the 15 mini green ones yesterday, put on all the fabric backings, labels AND delivered them!!  WHEW!!  I was REALLY getting tired of looking at that particular chart-almost had it memorized.  😛  Didn’t take any pix b/c I was SO ready to get them delivered, but they’re not much different than the 15 mini blue ones-other than cutting closer to the design this time. 

Now, I think I’m going to take a break from stitching for a bit and work on designing.  I plan to purchase PCStitch AND my awesome cool mouse-pen w/in the next couple of weeks.  😀  WHEE!!

Been busy…

doing all sorts of stuff-helping w/kids’ homework, starting a new Bible study @ church(Priscilla Shirer, One in a  Million) and all of the regular chores.

Biz-related, I’ve been working HARD on the 15 green minis and I have 8 done and 7 to go.  😀  Been trying to limit my internet fun and really focus on the bookmarks and it seems to be working.  I’m hoping to have them all stitched and finished by next Tuesday.  Wish me luck!!

My charts have been selling well at PatternsOnline and I have received my 1st royalty check($20)!!  I’m currently at half of that now and we’re only 3 weeks into the 1st quarter!!  WooHoo!!

I’m praying for $80 to arrive sometime since I want to buy PCStitch for the biz and start getting a bigger royalty.  Hehe…

Gettin’ stuff done…

Well, I’ve restarted the 15 green minis and hoping to complete a cross a day.  If I can do that, then I’ll be done before the end of the month!!  Pray for some energy and encouragement!!

Also, got an interesting email from www.patternsonline.com about the designer aspect.  We’re now able to upload our charts ourselves and get a bigger royalty percentage!!  Only problem, for me, is that I don’t have PCStitch to design with, so I can’t upload charts…yet.  😦

I did some research for the software today and its only $80 for the PRO version(which I want, of course).  So, guess I’ll need to start saving pennies or just wait for our income tax check to go get it.

Well, its time to watch a movie w/the hubby (“Death Becomes Her” & YES, I’ve never seen it!!).  Comment anytime.

Anyways!!  I’ve been working hard stitching lately.  I did finish stitching the last of the blue mini-bookmarks, so I just need to put the backings on.  YEA!!  I have 15 green mini-bookmarks to finish by Jan/Feb (pray and keep your fingers crossed).  Also, my charts at www.patternsonline.com are selling well, but I’d LOVE for some more to be purchased!!

I’ve started stitching on the 1st of the 5 newest bookmarks and its coming along quite nicely.  SO needed a break from the minis.  Got REALLY tired of looking at that chart!!  LOL.  Gotta get these 5 done before Christmas, so I’m stitching every chance I get.

Next week is our youngest son’s 7th bday (WOW!!) and Thanksgiving, so it’ll be a crazy, but fun, week.

Well, I’ve gotten all my networking/biz stuff done for today, so I think its time to get some stitching done.  Wish me luck!!

Exciting start for October!!

First, yesterday, 12 of my xstitch designs were posted on patternsonline.com for purchase!!  YEA!!!  Yesterday also gave another opportunity to order custom bookmarks from Coat Closet Designs-1 new one, so far.  🙂

Today is a rare afternoon w/no movie work to do, so, I had lunch w/the hubby and we got to REALLY discuss my biz and ideas I have for it.

I’m trying to figure out how to advertise Coat Closet Designs more on my VERY limited budget and ways to make some more $$.  I’ve come back to a previous idea of offering stamped xstitch charts, in addition to counted xstitch.  We went to Micheal’s to see if we could get some info about their sales of stamped vs. counted were.  We didn’t get anything extremely useful, but it was a try.  We looked at the yudu screen printer ($300) and I think it would really open up some more options.  I also have a couple of teen girls @ church that have expressed an interest in learning to xstitch, so I’m trying to figure out a way to do that w/all the other stuff I “have to” do.

Gonna have to pray on it and see if God hooks me up w/a way to do it w/o ALOT of $$.
